Leo Rubinfien is a distinguished American photographer and the author of three photographic books, A Map of the East (Godine, 1992), 10 Takeoffs 5 Landings (Robert Mann, 1994), and Wounded Cities (Steidl, 2008).  His work is in the collections of major museums and galleries in the United States, Europe, and Japan, and his most recent solo exhibitions were at the Corcoran Gallery of Art, Washington, DC, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, the Robert Mann Gallery, New York, and the 5th Annual Lianzhou International Photography Festival, China.  He is also well known for his essays on photography and is co-author, with Sandra S. Phillips, of Shomei Tomatsu: Skin of the Nation (Yale, 2004).
