Rogerio Reis received the 1999 FUNARTE Premio Nacional de Fotografia for his portraits of carnival, subsequently published in the book "Na Lona", 2001. His series "Surfistas de Trem", 1998, and "Microondas”, 2005, were exhibited and acquired by the MEP-Maison Européene de la Photographie, Paris, in 2007. In 2006, he created "Travesseiros Vermelhos", a study about survivors of the Vigário Geral massacre (AfroReggae Photo Collection). In FotoRio, 2009, he exhibited "Av Brasil 500" an essay on the now silent former headquarters of "Jornal do Brasil". Rogerio, a Carioca, lives in his native city of Rio De Janeiro, which furnishes the inspiration for the majority of his works. He studied journalism, works as the Photographic Editor of Tyba Agencia Fotografica, and is collaborating with Unesco on the project "OUR PLACE", the Photographic Celebration of the World's Heritage. His works are also in the permanent collection of various museums at home and abroad including the Harvard Art Museum, Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA, Maison Européene de la Photographie, France and The Museu de Arte Moderna do Rio de Janeiro.
