This greek sentence could be the title of the Greece series, the translation is difficult to express but the idea is: about the whiteness and brightness of the stones, becoming even more whiter and brighter under the sun.
For me stones are lively, not dead!
The Greece series has been done in the hotest and brightest days in summer.
In Greece I can recognize my mediterranean origins. The space, the sea, the powerful light of the sun, the obvious presence of summer heat.
In my work the relationship with human being and nature has always been important:
correspondences, analogies, mimetism of human being and nature: vegetal, mineral, animal.
Cf. seriesLenvers du visage: skulls like stones, like vegetal etc.
The Greece series is connected to my work in this way.
The transparency of the light reflected by the water, the mighty power of the sun turns so intensively every stone, every body in a sculpture.
The strenghful and powerful lightning of sun in Greece in summer that reflects on the stones, water, air, human beings, brings a spiritual feeling that leads me to ancient Greece with her ancient divinities. In mythology human beings are connected with both nature gods and godesses. I am convinced that Greece still reveals that feeling of antiquity, though hiddden by todays life. Cf. series Tete
Under these latitudes (climate, season, light, mediterranean sea) there is different feeling of time and space leading to an eternity feeling.
I am searching that every time I go and photograph in Greece.
